An NMC Horizon Report Regional Analysis

Welcome to the workspace for the 2012 Horizon Project Singapore. This space is the place for the members of the Horizon.sg Advisory Board to manage the process of researching, discussing, and ultimately, selecting the topics for the NMC Technology Outlook: Singaporean K12 Education 2012-2017. This research, and the Horizon Project as a whole, is led by the The New Media Consortium. The Singapore project is made possible by the generous support of SingTel.

The report will be published in November 2012, and will be formally released on November 6, 2012, at SingTel i.luminate 2012 The report focuses on emerging technology and its applications to in primary and secondary education in Singapore. This is the first year of publication for this particular report. (For a similar example, see the Technology Outlook for Australian Tertiary Education 2012-2017).

Horizon.stem is a project that applies the process developed for the New Media Consortium's Horizon Project to the identification of trends and challenges relevant to elementary and secondary learning institutions, and to clarifying key emerging technologies that are sure to impact the sector. Members of the STEM and STEM+ education communities worldwide are encouraged to follow the Advisory Board's progress as the discussion unfolds and to use the wiki as a resource and reference tool.

  • The wiki that will produce the NMC Technology Outlook: Singapore K-12 Education 2012-2017 is now open. Look for more integration with the NMC's global social Horizon Project research database, Navigator (http://navigator.nmc.org/), as well as our NMC Horizon EdTech Weekly app (http://go.nmc.org/app).
